Okuzawa San, who provided two childrens’ wheelchairs, runs a salon in Hachioji.

When the members of Fukushima First Baptist Church were in Okutama because of the disaster, every month she would go to give free haircuts. She first heard about Wheelchairs of Hope when Fukushima First Baptist Church used our van.  She donated  the wheelchairs that her child had used.

On February 1, Dr.Yodjin Uahwatanasakul, President of Bara Chemical Co.,Ltd , and Mr. Kenichi Hatano, Director and Senior Managing Executive Officer of Sumitomo Chemical Co.,Ltd. along with guests and Bara Chemical staff, donated three wheelchairs to persons with disabilities.  They reported that the recipients were very  happy to get the wheelchairs and expected their lives to improve now that they had received the wheelchairs.

The Philippine Airlines Foundation is partnering with us to get three wheelchairs this weekend from Tokyo to the Philippines where they will go to recipients at the Philippine Orthopedic Center.

On February 4th, Wheelchairs of Hope had the opportunity to join in a networking event for local organizations and activities.  A member of the board of directors was able to give a presentation to the local welfare representative on Wheelchairs of Hope's activities.  Many of our volunteers took the time to join the event as well.
