Cleaning Day Stories

Cleaning Day April 24, 2012

Volunteers visiting from a Santa Cruz California church (Twin Lakes) joined the Tuesday work day, cleaning wheelchairs and sewing cushions.  The morning hours were rather quiet, but by the time lunch was over, a lot of communication was taking place.  Smiles and working hard together communicates well in any language.

Cleaning Day April 17, 2012

Today 21 volunteers, including 5 from HIS, gathered to work at the Wheelchairs of Hope cleaning day.
We polished frames, greased bearings, reupholstered armrests, and boxed 6 wheelchairs.  Four wheelchairs are for Thailand, one is for Vietnam and one is our very first for Uzbekistan.
Thank you to all the hard working volunteers!

Cleaning Day April 3, 2012

We had another good wheelchair cleaning day-- teamwork solved a tricky mechanical problem, and a volunteer came to help with necessary office work.  A big thank you to all who participated.

Celebrating Spring at Cleaning Day

It was the spring equinox and we were all ready for winter to end.  Two new volunteers joined us that day, and there were birthdays to celebrate.  We cleaned chairs, spray-painted  frames, and ate cake.  It was a delightful way to welcome spring.
